Come Visit Deep Creek Cellars

Located near Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland, the winery is just 6.5 miles north of the Friendsville exit of Interstate 68 (Exit 4) on MD Route 42 at Frazee Ridge Road. You'll see our red sign on the right at the turn and you'll see the winery as you come up the hill from the highway. We're the only structure around!

From the Baltimore area, take I-70 west from the Beltway to I-68 west near Hancock, Md., to the Friendsville exit (see above). The Baltimore Beltway is 2:45 from the winery.

From the Washington, D.C. area, take I-270 west from the DC Beltway to I-70 west at Frederick, to I-68 west near Hancock, Md., to the Friendsville exit (see above). The DC Beltway is 2:40 from the winery.

Please note: If you're coming from the east and you're visiting and staying at Deep Creek Lake, the winery exit is west of the US 219 interchange for Deep Creek. But from the lake, the easiest way to reach the winery is to take MD Route 42 just north of McHenry for 7 miles to Friendsville. You'll actually by-pass Friendsville on Route 42 and go under I-68, and when you do, it's 6.5 miles to the winery (see directions above).

From Morgantown, W. Va. and points west, take the Friendsville exit of I-68 (see above).

From Pittsburgh, the easiest & fastest way from the city's south side and south, western, and even northern suburbs is to take I-79 to Morgantown, then I-68 East towards Cumberland, MD, to the Friendsville MD Exit #4 (see above). From Pittsburgh's east side and eastern suburbs, take the Pa. Turnpike to the New Stanton exit, then south on US 119 toward Connellsville and Uniontown. US 119 leads to US 40, an expressway which bypasses Uniontown before turning into a two-lane highway that goes up over the mountain above Uniontown. From that point, it's approximately 20 miles on Highway 40 to Route 281 South at Markleysburg, Pa. Follow the road through Markleysburg until it makes a sharp left turn at a sign pointing toward Friendsville. It's 1 mile to the state line, then less than 1 mile to our sign on the left at Frazee Ridge Road -- the first crossroads in Maryland. Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill Tunnel is 1:50 from the winery.

From Philadelphia, New York, and points east, we highly recommend I-70 and I-68 for your trip across Maryland to the Friendsville exit (see above). Harrisburg, Pa., is 2:20 from the winery.
